No worries, Jim. The penalty (or the “tax” as the Supreme Court declared it to be) is only $2,600 for not carrying insurance. And, of course, the insurance companies can’t turn you down for coverage. So, all you do is pay the tax, then, if you get sick, you dial up your insurance company and purchase insurance. Do it from the hospital’s emergency room if you have to. (Gosh, you don’t suppose people will figure this out, do you? I believe insurance companies have, which is why the price of insurance for anyone stupid enough to buy before they get sick or have an emergency it is skyrocketing.)
